Holderiths

Holderith Wedding | Bald Peak | Hillsboro DJ

Torey and Emily Holderith were married August 1st, 2015 at a private residence on Bald Peak just outside of Hillsboro, OR. This was one of the most beautiful backyard weddings we’ve ever seen. Torey’s father really performed a labor of love for over a year in preparation for the ceremony and reception. The most impressive item of “decor” to us was the raised dance floor they built just for the occasion. It looks to be a permanent fixture, but we wish we could take it with us to every event! The ceremony seating consisted of hay bales and burlap blankets for guests. Everything from the wooden tables to the ceremony altar were custom built for the occasion. We’ve been to a few professional wedding venues that lacked the detail that the Holderiths put into this wedding. Needless to say, we were impressed!

DJ Thoughts

We were reminded of the importance of dedicated power at this wedding. Although our equipment is top of the line and we size the speakers for every event, even a modest volume from a pair of speakers can sometimes spike enough power to trip the breaker if there’s anything awry in the wiring. Unfortunately, the circuit we were connected to was tripped a few times throughout the night and we had to restart Serato DJ each time after power came back to fix some glitches in the software after the Numark NS7 “disappeared” from the connection. This put a small damper on the dancing, but the guests were all pretty laid back and took the opportunity to grab another drink and cool down before jumping right back on the dance floor when the music started again. Moral of the Story: Always bring a UPS or generator just in case 🙂

Video

As usual, we shot a little video from our iPhone, so pardon the potato quality.. videography isn’t my forte while DJing 🙂
